Busy Bee

Tomrrow SFU Lipdub finally shoots, after 2 months on this project, I'm happy to see all of our hard work pay off and cannot wait to see the end result. Basically, that's my longwinded excuse for why I haven't been consistently posting outfits lately.

Apologies for my haggard appearance, it's been kind of hard to squeeze in sleep lately, my favourite past-time has been so neglected lately. Sad, very sad days.

Regular programming will resume one day, soon, hopefully.

Marni x H&M

Despite being as busy as ever, I still always manage to find time to go shopping. I think it's become an innate ability of sorts, a very dangerous one. Nothing new, but H&M's collaboration with Marni finally came out today, and I made the decision to head down after work to see if I could get my grubby hands on some pieces. I figured my chances would be higher as:

A) It's the middle of the week
B) People are working?

Unfortunately the only article of clothing I was looking for was already sold out when I made it in so I went straight for accessories as I was so not walking out empty handed, not after freezing my butt off. I quickly snatched up a pair of earrings, a belt and a scarf. Just as I was about to head out of Marni heaven, I noticed a SA carrying a box containing some sunglasses. I wasn't too sure if she was purchasing them for herself or if she was putting them back out (as at this point, everyone was now allowed in and so SA's were also trying to grab some things for themselves). Taking no chances, I asked her if I could have them and she kindly handed them over. I stumbled out of H&M 15 minutes later with a pair of earrings and sunglasses.

Although I did score some Marni, I was bummed out as the one pair of earrings that I had really wanted were snatched right out of my hands. Just as it sounds. I didn't realize people were so aggressive, all I wanted were those earrings pal. I will find you. Apology was so not accepted, it's a battle now.

Bag

Boxed up

At one point while I was inside, I said to myself: "If I can't find anything, I'll just ask for a stupid bag." Because quite honestly, I was not going to let all my effort go to waste.
Earrings
Sunnies

I didn't realize that these earrings were clip-ons, and that the sunglasses were men's, but in the end I think I'm quite content with my purchases. I snapped some pictures with my iPhone to show how the earrings and sunglasses look, what do you think? I'm not 150% set on the sunglasses, they don't look awful though, and they're really sturdy.

Gingham Poof

Last time I posted, I swore I'd be less erratic, unfortunately, as it is with being an overwhelmed workaholic, I got swamped with assignments and midterms. Luckily I survived and am back kicking. Thank you all for the lovely comments on the last post! I managed to score the third volunteer role, and am super excited to be taking on this new venture.

My time with SFU LipDub will soon be over in 2 short weeks, but I have a little surprise up my sleeve for my readers as soon as the video is released. Trust me, it's good and totally worth the wait. Until then, bear with me as I have a vast number of meetings and spreadsheets to work on.

If you asked me a year ago if I thought I'd wear this? No. Pink and a structured skirt (aka poof) is just something I'd never be caught dead in. For some reason, I've gravitated towards both of these, but this isn't to say that pink and poofs are still welcome in my humble abode. Since these are both simple pieces, I think this is why they've managed to integrate well into my minimal simple wardrobe.

Kind of tough to see, but I have on my latest purchase from Etsy aka my peter pan collar necklace. I'm tempted to go get more, it's become a staple for my otherwise very plain outfits.

Just to prove I don't take myself too seriously. Here's to another week of craziness!

P.S. Yes, I am that sassy in real life, but don't worry, I'm friendly, so long as I've had food.

Workaholic

I was telling my bf&bf (that's boyfriend and best friend to you) how I feel like such a workaholic. I can't help it. It's in my nature. I picked up 2 new volunteer positions in the past week in addition to the 2 jobs I work, and just had a telephone interview for the 3rd. I'm one of those who's wired to their phones, except for me? All the wrong reasons. Should you ever spot me "looking busy" on my phone, I'm really playing Tiny Tower, let's be real here.

I scored this cashmere cardigan that I had been eyeing at Aritzia for $42 (after tax). It was so worth the wait, I wore it to bed that night, really. I also got my hands on a T.Babaton Skirt for $54. Let it be known that these were on 2 separate occasions. I openly admit: I have a problem.

021312

Although these flats are a wee bit big on me, I couldn't help but purchase them when they were on sale for $12 and were so nice and cushy. Plus, bows? Yes please!

Sorry for the erratic posting as of late, I've drained myself beyond belief, but I'm back and kicking, don't you worry.

Chopped

Remember how I said I was "ready for bangs"? Well, I finally got some bangs and hacked off a few inches. Hopefully these bangs don't grow out too fast, my hair seems to have a mind of it's own.

The weather this weekend in Vancouver has been so fantastic, I seriously hope it sticks around because the gloomy weather doesn't let me wear my sparkly shoes. Who in their right mind would deny a girl her right to wear glitters?
