Disappearing Acts

I've mastered this disappearing act thing, at least I'm still reappearing in the right spot every time, right?

I've become a J.Crew-holic. Mainly because it has proven an effective means for me to work whilst shopping simultaneously. Also, it seems to be the only way I get shopping done "in store". Online shopping has also proven itself to be very convenient (in a dangerous sense), so I've placed myself on a shopping ban effective June 1st until June 30th. We'll see how this goes.

As for my hair? Roots are growing in, mullet phase is about to start any time soon now, so a mental health day (aka hair salon trip) is necessary. Unfortunately it looks like all of you readers have booked Mark up for the next 2 weeks (!). As ecstatic as I am for him, I need my hair done too, so ladies and gentlemen, back off!

P.S. My shopping ban decision was made in the middle of writing this post during a bout of extreme sleep deprivation. Anything I said cannot and will not be held against me in the court of law.

East meets West

I'm back (I know! 2 days in a row, what?)

I'm really loving easy to wear pieces, helps with the fact that I'm incredibly lazy in the mornings, would much wear pjs all day, and really am soaking up this idea of vacation. I brought a bit of New York with me to Taiwan this time around: this dress and the flats. East meets West? I suppose?

I completed the show Broadchurch in the span of less than 24 hours, I highly recommend it to everyone, also, yes, I'm a professional TV marathoner. Add that skill to my résumé now.

P.S. In case you're wondering this is two postings in one day, but in my part of the world, it was two separate days. I swear!

Vacationing

Hello! It's been awhile hasn't it? I promised to post more outfits, and clearly I've been falling behind. You could say I've been enjoying the luxury of waking up when I want, eating whatever and whenever I feel like, and going out and doing whatever I like aka I haven't really been thinking about my blog, sorry!

Keeping it simple lately with light layers and easy to wear pieces. This Zara skort has gotten a ton of wear here in Taiwan, probably because once I'm back in 5 days time, I no longer have the opportunity to wear it.

Despite me not keeping my blog up to date, my Instagram is CONSTANTLY being updated, so if you want to keep up with my happenings you can find me @lackofcreativity.

MAC Brick-O-La Review

Greetings from Taiwan! I had a long 13 hour flight, but thanks to my prolonged sleep deprivation, I slept 10+ hours. My body isn't entirely happy with the outcome of that extremely stuff 13 hour flight though: swollen feet, allergies, eczema, dehydrated skin, and jetlag (ugh).

Since my flight was at 2am and I had checked in and gone through security by 11:15, you can guess that I was pretty bored. Thank goodness for YVR's Duty Free. I meandered through all of the beauty products (trying not to buy any of them because I knew I was coming to Taiwan aka ASIAN COSMETICS!), but couldn't help and finally pick up MAC's Brick-O-La, which has been on my mind for a little while now.

Note: This is my first MAC product ever, so I'm not too familiar with the different lipstick lines. Brick-O-La is from the Amplified collection, which apparently (according to the SA) offers 8 hours of lasting power, is moisturizing and stains the lips nicely afterwards. Sounds like something I'd like. One thing I have to note, in no way is this colour brick like at all, rather it's a dusty rose-red (I'm terrible at describing colours). I put it on right after I got to my Grandma's house and unpacked my luggage: I ate some food, ate some more, wandered, and ate even more. After all that (I'd say about 6 hours), the colour had worn off in such an unsightly manner, not the even stain I had hoped for.

However, the way it wore off won't deter me, in fact, most of my lipsticks wear off the same way, so I'm not going to criticize the lipstick for that. I love the colour, it's moisturizing, adds warmth and is flattering on quite an array of skin tones. 2 thumbs up from me!

P.S. It costed me $18 for this bad boy, would I do it again? Probably. The colour is just so darn nice and I see it working well in the office as well as at school.

P.P.S. I reapplied, so this would be what Brick-O-La looks like with a second layer.

Up in the Air

Hello! As you read this, I'm probably somewhere up in the air, who knows where, half asleep, dreaming about stinky tofu and warmer days. I thought I would drop a quick update of what I've been wearing lately, since I haven't done one of these what I wore posts in awhile. Naturally, I've been lazy and this comes directly off my Instagram, sorry y'all.

Spring uniform. These rockstar skinny jeans from Old Navy are just perfect for petite girls. Yes I do have to cuff them up ever so slightly, but it kind of adds to that je ne sais quoi look, no? Mind you, this photo was taken awhile back, and my locks have since been chopped (hello pixie cut!).

Until next post, from Taiwan! x
