Seattle

Hello! It's been a while since I've posted, and a lot has happened in my little world. N and I went on our first mini-vacation down to Seattle for his birthday, a surprise that I planned for over 4 months (!). Here's a little snapshot into how we took in the city (shopping not pictured).

Untitled

We stayed at the Marriott @ Pioneer Square, a 15 minute walk away from Pike Place and all of the shopping, close to the train station and had a ton of yummy bites in the surrounding area.

Untitled

Had a lot of coffee and almond croissants. In my books: never enough coffee or almond croissants, ever.

Untitled

Stumbled upon the hidden waterfall park, a nice little sanctuary that was tucked away along a busy street.

Untitled

One of my favourite snaps of N. Probably the least "rainy" duration of our trip, it seems I can never escape the rain.

Untitled

Our only shot together because I was paranoid that my camera would get stolen (am I the only one who thinks that? Probably...)

Untitled

Untitled

Funny story behind my boots, if you look at my Instagram feed, I start the trip with one pair of rain boots and end the trip with Hunter rain boots. Reason? Apparently I'm too hard-core for my boots and they wore through the heels!

An amazing library that we spent a good hour and a half exploring. I took so many more photos on my Instagram feed should anyone want to see even more of our trip, though you probably got sick of my photo-essay here. N and I both agreed that we have to make the trip down here again, by train to save the cost of parking and gas and to have a comfortable trip.

Just to make it blog-official... I'm going to New York from February 9 to February 16! I would love if I could get some recommendations for where to shop/where to visit/what to do when I'm there. It also happily coincides with a bit of NYFW, and I'm sure that will definitely add to the experience. If you'd like to meet-up (I'm already meeting up with Jen), be sure to shoot me an email and I would love to arrange something! : )

Until next post!

  1. You should try Cafeteria in Chelsea for good food! Kinokuniya for good books (and a good cafe on the second floor). I'd also recommend visiting the High Line and the Museum of the Moving Image. Other than that, all the typical touristy stuff is always fun too. Enjoy New York!

  4. Looks like you had a nice getaway in Seattle!

New York is so much fun. Definitely make reservations at the Little Owl. It's on the edge of the West Village and Greenwich, a tiny little place that only seats 38. The boy and I had dinner there and it was the best meal of our trip. The Village is very romantic for after-dinner strolling too.

  6. I live on Long Island, but I hardly get to go into NYC that often! I'd recommend visiting Uniqlo (in SOHO) and Muji (in Midtown and SOHO). Oh, and hit up the giant H&M right outside of Penn Station (34th Street, I think). They have the biggest selection of accessories in that store than I've seen in any other H&M in Manhattan.

  10. OH the timing of this post is actually really great for me. My husband and I were just talking about just going on a random trip to Seattle! This is really inspiring for me!
And yes...I'm paranoid people will snatch my camera too. I usually opt to ask people who have similar cameras to mine...so the idea of having someone snatch would be less appealing since we're comparable. haha...lame?
